Route 66 has a primary travel season of May through October. This is when all points-of-interest (POIs) are open and have the longest hours/availability.
The western half of Route 66 (Oklahoma – California) is generally open all year, but many POIs have limited hours/availability outside of the primary season.
Many POIs begin to open or extend their hours in April, but this can be dependent on the weather during April.
